Kimberlee & Gemma at 2021 AKC Invitational (10th overall at 20/24″ – 4th going into finals)

Gemma,  at almost 11 years of age and 80 AKC titles to her name, has fulfilled a dream of our agility career,  reaching the finals of the AKC Agility Invitational 2021 in Florida in December!   We were  ‘clear” aka clean with no faults for all four of the rounds with the fastest accumulated time to be ranked 4th of the 24’s.  We were also the top finishing Belgian Tervuren (they only allow 1 per breed in the finals).   It was run in reverse finish order and small to tall so we had to wait a very long 2 hours until we got to run. Plenty of time to study the map, get texts with handling advice from my agility training peeps, alerting family and friends to watch AKCTV and get nervous   I was actually pretty calm going to the line and had a smooth run going…until a backside slice just right after a tunnel, Gemma’s foot nicked the bar and I heard it go down.  The crowd moaned but it is just a 5 point fault and we were still fast enough for us to finish in the top 10!   Gemma’s full name is GCH CH MACH2 PACH2 Chantryile Glimmers Like Gold VCD2 BN VER RM RAE TDX TDU HSAs MXS MJC MXP8 MXPG MJP9 MJPG PJDP PAX2 XF MFP T2B3 T2BP2 CA SWA CGC TKN
